Black Divaz

This screening is part of a Party Passport event in association with the NT AIDS and Hepatitis Council. This is a special event also consisting of LIVE PERFORMANCE and SPECIAL GUESTS.

You may know Darwin-based company Party Passport from their Sydney Mardi Gras float, representing NT AIDS and Hepatitis Council and the Northern Territory LGBTQ community, or perhaps through one of their events: Departure Lounge, Drag Queen Bingo, or The Love Boat (just to mention a few!). Now, Party Passport is rolling out the Red Carpet for a very special event held under the beautiful Dry Season sky!

Party Passport are so happy to have NTAHC involved with a stall and fundraiser raffle upon entry.

After a world screening on NITV and SBS TV in March, a sold out Film Premier at Queer Screen Film Festival, two standing ovations and a Best Documentary award at this years Mardi Gras Film Festival, BLACK DIVAZ is fast becoming one of Australia's most unique, powerful & deeply personal Queer films this country has ever seen.

Party Passport is bringing Black Divaz home to where it all began. Filmed over Darwin Pride in late September last year, Black Divaz is an intimate portrait of what it means to be an Indigenous Drag Queen today as it follows 6 queens in the first ever Miss First Nation Pageant.

Party Passport are so thrilled to announce that the Black Divaz stars will be attending and performing LIVE a fabulous group performance!

MEET & GREET the amazing cast in a very special & intimate audience Q&A session after the film.

This will be a very special evening filled with laughs, joy and raw emotion in the most beautiful setting under the Darwin stars 💫

Watch Trailer

“When they are dressed to the nines and on the small stage performing, the girls project this air of professionalism which at the same time comes over as both natural and authentic, the two qualities that get totally forgotten elsewhere in a world too obsessed with the over-glossiness (and dare we say fakeness?) of Drag Race”
